We have over 25 years experience in arbitration work in the UK and elsewhere. We have arbitrated matters in most international arbitration organisations such as the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) , the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Grain and Food Trade Association (GAFTA), FOSFA, the London Metal Exchange (LME), the London Sugar Associations, the Liverpool Cotton Exchange, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and also ad hoc, pursuant to the rules of the United Nations Chamber of International Trade Arbitration (UNCITRAL). We have had the conduct of, or assisted in arbitrations in France, Germany, Sweden, Russia, India, Malaysia, Singapore (SIAC), Hong Kong, China (CIETAC) Peace Palace Permanent Court of Arbitration and in the United States and other regional arbitration centres. Arbitration is not always the answer to dispute resolution. Besides other considerations, it can be very expensive. It can also be very time consuming. Clients need to be properly advised as to the costs consequences of arbitrating, what “short cut” solutions should be considered, and whether there are any alternatives available. |
